ummm when you are quick masking…what ever you want selected should not be painted in…for that all you do is make sure that white in your forground…press atl+backspace…then change the color to white and brush over what ever you want. if you do it this way it wont have to invert the selection. and the quick mask you did was shit and this video could of been shorter…but it did help so thx

the resolution of your picture might not be that good.
Sometimes on low quality pictures they look fine from the default size, but when you zoom in it slowly turns to crud. Try getting a higher resolution picture, or just dont zoom in all the way, you can still edit the picture no matter what.
